About NPL

The Nigerian Prize for Leadership (NPL) is an initiative of some eminent Nigerians to redefine and establish a more credible leadership culture, create a sustainable, deeper and formidable paradigm and benchmark for assessing Leadership; as well as raise/build/groom a thoroughly prepared successor generation of Nigerian Leaders. The Governing Board is chaired by Prof. Anya O. Anya, OFR, NNOM, FAS.

Notice for Nomination(s)

Nomination(s) for the Maiden Edition of Nigerian Prize for Leadership

The Nigerian Prize for Leadership (NPL) hereby opens for Entries and Nominations for the Winner of the Maiden Edition of the Prize. The Winner will have the opportunity of possessing the NPL Medal, Plaque and Sash for the 2020 to 2021 Season.

Prize Money​

The Prize comes with Prize Money in the sum of N35million (Thirty Five Million Naira), with an additional sum of N10million (Ten Million Naira) for Prize Winner to undertake one year rigorous mentorship programme for 7 Protégés who would be selected after undergoing one month intensive leadership grooming and training programme under the NPL Ambassador Category.

Nomination Qualification

Nominations for the Prize is open to only Nigerians. The Prize recognizes Nigerians irrespective of gender, religion, ethnicity, age, field of endeavor, age, place of abode, etc. who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in life. Self-nomination is also accepted.

Nominees Identity

The identity of Nominees and other details may not be made public depending on the decision of the Governing Board.

Selection Process

The Governing Board of the Nigerian Prize of Leadership (NPL) will constitute an independent Assessment and Recommendation Panel (ARP) to consider, assess and evaluate Entries and Nominations for the Prize and shortlist 3 top finalists.

Whose Who Can Nominate

Individuals, Organisations (corporate and non-corporate), Groups, Associations, Religious Bodies, Academia, Professional Bodies, and the General Public from within and outside Nigeria.

Submissions

All entries and nominations shall be supported by relevant documents, including at least 10 pictures and not less than 3 videos demonstrating and supporting activities of the candidate and claims by the nominee sent to the sectariact at Plot 2528, Linda Chalkar Crescent, Asokoro Extension, Abuja;

Criteria for Nomination(s)

The NPL Criteria for Assessment and Selection for the Maiden Edition was designed by an independent and highly endowed Technical Team of Experts (TTE) led by Prof. Ayo Ibidapo-Obe, OFR, FAS, FAENG, FNCS, FNIM, former President Nigeria Academy of Science and Vice Chancellor University of Lagos, and Engr. Mansur Ahmed, President Manufacturers Association of Nigeria. The Criteria are as follows:
