Mrs. Dorothy Udeme Ufot ( SAN, FCIArb (U.K.), Chartered Arbitrator ) is a leading legal practitioner in Nigeria. She is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (since 2009). She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, U.K and a Chartered Arbitrator. She is the founding partner of Dorothy Ufot & Co, a leading law firm in Nigeria established in 1994, where she heads the international arbitration and litigation departments of the firm.
Dorothy is a member of the International Bar Association and the London Court of International Arbitration. She was designated to serve a six-year term on the panel of arbitrators of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Dispute (ICSID) (an arm of the World Bank) in February 2017.

She is on the panels of arbitrators of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA), the International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, Lagos (RCICAL), the International Energy Arbitrator’s List and the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC). She is a member of the Court of Arbitration of the Casablanca International Mediation and Arbitration Centre (CIMAC).

Dorothy is an immediate past Member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration in Paris (2006-June 2018). She is a member of the Council of the ICC Institute of World Business Law. She is a member of the Board of the International Chamber of Commerce (Nigeria) and its treasurer. Dorothy has been listed in the Global Arbitration Review’s (GAR) International Who’s Who of Commercial Arbitration Practitioners consecutively from 2009 to 2018 as one of the World’s leading experts in the field of international commercial arbitration.

Dorothy is a former council member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and also served as non-executive director of Chevron Oil Nigeria PLC and MRS Oil Nigeria PLC. Dorothy was appointed to the Board of Dangote Cement PLC as its first female non- executive Director in April 2016 and she also serves on the Board of S O & U Limited as a non-executive Director.
