Lady Onyeka Onwenu (MFR) is a consummate singer, songwriter, actress, journalist, and politician, who has made significant impact and demonstrated outstanding leadership excellence in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, covering music and drama, spanning over 3 decades. She is a journalist by training and a former staff of the United Nations.
Lady Onwenu is a former Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Women Development; Chairperson of Imo State Council for Arts and Culture. She also served on the Board of the Nigeria Television Authority.

Lady Onwenu is popularly called the elegant stallion and respected for her immense contributions to the Nigerian music industry. She stood out as the only musician to have crossed Pop with Juju music and Highlife, combining English and local languages to deliver exceptional music. Her songs have socio-cultural and religious undertones, offering solutions social issues such as value reorientation, and advocating for unity and cultural cohabitation.
She has acted in many drama and films. Her pedigree as a social crusader and fearless journalism led to her presentation of the internationally acclaimed BBC/NTA corruption exposition documentary in 1984 titled, ‘Nigeria, A Squandering of Riches’.

Madam Onyeka has dedicated substantial part of her time and resources towards grooming, mentoring and raising a formidable leadership replacement generation among the Nigerian youth.
