Dorothy Udeme Ufot, SAN is a leading legal practitioner in Nigeria. She is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (since 2009). She is the founding Partner of Dorothy Ufot & Co, a leading law firm in Nigeria established in 1994. Dorothy is a member of the International Bar Association and the London Court of International Arbitration. She served a six-year term on the Panel of Arbitrators of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Dispute (ICSID) in 2017.
She is listed in the ‘New List – Arbitrators of African Descent. It is noteworthy that Dorothy recently won the prestigious award of African Arbitrator of the Year 2020, which election took place on the sidelines of the 8th East Africa International Arbitration Conference organised by the African Arbitration Association in Nairobi, Kenya on 28th August 2020.
Dorothy was a Member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration in Paris (2006-2018). She is a Member of the Council of the ICC Institute of World Business Law.
She served as Council Member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Non-Executive Director Chevron Oil Nigeria Plc and MRS Oil Nigeria Plc. Dorothy was appointed to the Board of Dangote Cement Plc as its first female non-executive Director in April 2016 and she also serves on the Board of S O & U Limited.
