Prof. Jerry Gana is a distinguished scholar, technocrat, patriot and democrat, committed to a life of service in humility and distinction. He has carried a burden for the rapid, effective and equitable development of Nigeria for the past four decades. Prof. Gana aligns excellence and integrity, with a focus on high achievement, in all his national and institutional assignments. This attribute manifested profoundly when he served briefly as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; and later as Director, Directorate for Food, Roads and Rural Infrastructure (DFRRI); Chairman Mass Mobilization for Social Justice and Economic Recovery (MAMSER); Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Minister of Information and Culture; Minister of Cooperation and Integration in Africa; Minister of Information and National Orientation; and Political Adviser to President. He recently served as the Pro-Chancellor University of Lagos; the Pro-Chancellor University of Mkar in Benue State; Chancellor Kwararafa University Wukari, Taraba State, etc. Prof. Gana is a Fellow, Nigerian Economic Society; Fellow, Nigerian Geographical Association; Fellow Nigerian Institute of Public Relations; He is also National Patron Boys Brigade of Nigeria; Patron Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship, amongst many others. He was a Delegate to the 2014 National Conference. The peculiarity of his politics of integrity, combined with equity, fairness and justice has made him a rallying point for excellence in visionary leadership. He has given himself to raising a credible generation of young leaders for Nigeria, across regions and cultures. He is a recipient of ‘Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON)’ of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and holds the title of Hasken Nupe of Nupe Land.
